Our Course Pricing - better bang for your buck

Lower overheads. We don’t have permanent classrooms or premises and we keep our staff lean. Most of our fees get passed on to the instructor – the  person with the skills who provides the service, rather than the administration and overheads of the organisation.

Savings passed onto you. This allows us to keep our costs down and offer better value for money options to you.

See for yourself. To illustrate our better value for money, the following table shows our pricing for our Power BI Kickstarter course, and example pricing for an equivalent course with a typical competitor using traditional training methods with higher overheads.

Multi-person discounts. You’ll also notice that you save more when you enroll additional participants on our courses. This is because we offer a discount for each additional participant you enroll on a course, whereas most of our competitors charge the same fee for all participants.

GST Inclusive. All of our advertised pricing is GST inclusive. Be careful – some providers will advertise ex-GST pricing to look more competitive, then slip the extra 10% on to the bill at the end.

Ad hoc and longer term Consulting pricing

In addition to helping you learn how to connect to your data and create insightful reports, we can assist you with your data on your own projects.

How can we help? There are a number of ways you might like our help, including:

  • Looking at your data or reports and giving you advice on the possible ways to tackle the project.
  • Actively working with you one on one to assist you achieving your modelling or report visual aims.
  • You can give us some objectives and we can work on them for you, reporting back in on a regular basis for feedback and changes.

Lower Overheads = Lower Fees. Our fees for consulting work are generally much lower than our competition due to our lower overheads and most of the fee being paid to the consultant.

Our competitors’ Fees. Most consulting organisations, and even other training organisation charge $180 per hour and often $250 per hour or above for support and consulting services, and you’re often locked into the scope or a minimum number of hours. If you get a fixed price quote for a larger job, prepare to add a few zeros as they’ll stack the quote to allow for risks – the house never loses!

You stay in control. Our consulting fees are always hourly based, and we only charge for the work we do. You maintain complete control over the scope of work and can cancel at any time if you feel you are not getting what you want, or just want to continue on your own once you have the help you needed. Beware of inexperienced Consultants. Beware of other organisations offering high cost consulting services using people with theory only, who have little or no real-world experience in the technology they are charging their large fees for. These organisations are often offering low value and risk laden services, squeezing both the consultant and their clients and keeping most of the fees themselves.

We’ll only help if we have the expertise. Our consultants train, but they also have real-world, practical experience, meaning lower risks and quicker completion times. If we feel the scope of what you want is beyond our expertise, we will be honest and let you know so that you can look elsewhere for a better option. We’re not driven by sales people who can’t say no. If we can’t help you, we won’t pretend we can.

Our Rates. Our hourly rates are low and simple:

  • $140 per hour for the first 10 hours on a new project.
  • $130 per hour for the second 10 hours on a project.
  • $120 per hour for any subsequent time on the project.

Note: All prices are GST inclusive, invoices are issued monthly or at the conclusion of the engagement.

Weekly reports and invoicing. We will provide a weekly report on the last working day of each week, as well as on the last working day of each month. This will include a status update on progress, hours worked on each task, resulting costs and a summary of the next stages and estimates of effort if appropriate.

Invoices are provided monthly in the first few days of the new month, based on last month’s work, and are payable 14 days Net.
